Two brazen robberies on Chicago’s North Side Saturday afternoon may have been the work of the same man.
The first robbery was reported just before 11 a.m. when a man, thought to be between the ages of 40 and 50, entered a business in the 1200 block of North Wells in the city’s Old Town neighborhood, according to police.
The man pulled out a knife and announced a robbery, according to witnesses. The man took an undisclosed amount of cash from the business and ran off.
Six miles away at a Vitamin Shoppe location in Lakeview, another robbery occurred with the same M.O., as a man pulled out a knife and demanded money.
According to witnesses, the man was wearing a beige skull cap beanie hat and light-colored pants.
No one is in custody, and anyone with information on either incident is encouraged to call police.
